Book illustration.
In 2009 my husband Marian Stan has published his second book in Romania - a great collection of poems called "The children see us".
It was a good opportunity for us to work together on a project; I have truly enjoyed doing the illustration and the book cover.
Cambridge 2003. We were living in a bed and breakfast that summer, looking for a flat to rent. Marian had bought me a box of pastels from a reputable art materials supplier. It was a nice and thoughtful gift.
I have spent most of those happy days exploring the city and experimenting with pastels. Marian would bring me fruit from the market and I would arrange them on the towels and draw them.
The towels were blue so there is a lot of this colour in my drawings:
